There are countless endangered species in the world. There are different reasons for this to happen. Here are some reasons:
LOSS OF HABITAT:
Construction is a humongous part of endangered species causes. It is actually the #1 reason why it happens. While we build roads and buildings, and construct houses, we are also cutting down trees, and taking away the animal's habitats. So remember, that when you are cutting down a few trees, you are destroying some animal's homes. POLLUTION: Pollution causes many species of animals to become endangered.Global Warming is one example. Water, ground, and air pollution all are related in some ways. Species that live in soil can get endangered from toxic getting in the ground, witch is where they live. It can be passed by bacteria, to insects, to the birds and animals that eat them. It effects the ground water below the soil, and it may lead to the source of water that makes it through your own faucet! It is both horrible for humans & animals. That's why you should not pollute! COMPETITION: There is only so much space, water, and even food in this world for all these animals. They must compete for these important sources. They fight for them. That is why some species become endangered. DISEASE FROM HUMANS: Humans can sometimes pass diseases to animals that can sometimes kill them. They can sometimes pass to water & soil, and go to other small water feeders to fish who ate the plants to the humans & animals that eat some of the fish. PREDATORS: Animals sometimes eat other animals. That's one of their food sources. Animals, for example, wolves eat rodents and fish. That's just part of the food chain, But some animals get hunted down way to much, and they may become an endangered species. HUMAN REASONS: Some farmers kill wolves, foxes, and coyotes when they try to chase or eat their chickens. They also sometimes kill them for attacking sheep. Some humans kill coyotes when they see them. There was a red wolf mistaken for a coyote, that was shot. It's illegal to kill red wolves, therefore, they should not kill wolves, coyotes, foxes, or any animals when they see them. |
